As revealed in Vedānta — the conclusive portion of the Vedas — the ultimate purpose of human life is to realize that we are not this perishable material body, but the eternal jīvātma (soul). Our true goal is to attain liberation (mokṣa) from the endless cycle of birth and death, and to eternally enjoy the blissful association of Śrīman Nārāyaṇa and His devotees, serving them unconditionally with pure love.
